After graduating from college with two degrees, I rolled into three interviews and received three rejections before I decided to start my own organization called WrightChoice, Inc. It was my goal to educate employers about creating more opportunities for a niche talent pool and linking them to students with disabilities who were internship ready. Over a 14yrs period, I watched many employers have a-ha moments regarding hiring people with disabilities. At the same time, confidence levels of students elevated because they were making meaningful contributions to the workplace. This is a space where innovation is constant and employers who are intentional reap the rewards.

Two years ago, I decided to join the corporate sector and assist with effecting change from the inside out. I currently work at Nationwide Insurance on the Affinity Relationship Management Team. Still carrying the passion for inclusion, I assisted with relaunching the disability focused ARG – Diversabilities – a community created to give voice to associates with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities and supporters. As a group we promote education and awareness across the enterprise. From nonprofit to corporate, I lead from a seated position but I know that the strength is in the power of our message and our presence in the workplace. I love the opportunities to shift the thinking about our community one conversation at a time.
