– Special Assistant to the President
Jasmine Ruiz joined NOD in June 2011 to provide finance, operations and development support to NOD’s headquarters in New York City, including database management, vendor relations and events management. Beginning in May 2012, Ms. Ruiz transitioned into the President’s office by accepting the role of Executive Assistant to NOD’s president, Carol Glazer, which included managing all correspondence, scheduling and workflow. In January 2015, Ms. Ruiz was promoted to Special Assistant, taking on additional responsibilities in the President’s Office.
Ms. Ruiz is also pursuing a Master’s of Science Degree in Nonprofit Management, with a specialty in Organizational Change Management at Milano, The New School for Public Engagement. Before joining NOD, Ms. Ruiz served as a volunteer at South Asian Youth Action! (SAYA!), then obtained a part-time position working with the Director of Finance & Administration, where she researched Human Resource best practices and helped streamline administrative processes. Prior to this, Ms. Ruiz was a Senior Risk Administrator at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where she was involved in working closely with senior managers to identify and address client risk, profit/loss analysis trends and involved in arbitration and litigation efforts on behalf of the company. Ms. Ruiz received her Bachelor’s Degree in International Development Studies from University of California, Los Angeles.
